What are the benefits of the MOGO Word Processor (WP)?
The MOGO WP allows you to create form letters with patient specific merge fields to help your office go paperless. These letters are printed via the Quick Letter feature.

QRP Overview

How Do I Create A QRP Document?
A QRP document is a handy way of documenting exam findings and display those results in a letter format. In a similar manner to an EMR template, the QRP document will contain choices and selections that will be filtered down to make your resulting letter customized for the patient. To create this customization you will use several symbols/characters in your document. They are the caret ( ^ ), the tilde ( ~ ), the underscore ( _ ), curly brackets or braces ( {} ), and square or straight brackets ( [] ). Each of these characters will perform different functions within your QRP document.

What do each of the QRP symbols do?
^ (Caret)
The caret will add a blank line to your final document when packed. This can be done inside or outside of your bracketed choices. If the caret is inside brackets, the extra line will only be added if that choice is made prior to packing.
Example: “The patient came in complaining about [^pain] [^bleeding] [^sensitivity].”
When packed it will look like this (assuming you select all three choices):
The patient came in complaining about
pain
bleeding
sensitivity.
Adding additional carets will add additional lines.
Example: “The patient came in complaining about [^^pain] [^^bleeding] [^^sensitivity].
When packed it will look like this (assuming you select all three choices):
The patient came in complaining about
pain

bleeding

sensitivity.
~ (Tilde)
Use the tilde to insert a tab. Just like the caret this can be done inside or outside of brackets and you can add more than one tilde to add additional tabs.

Example:

Conditions
[~Gingivitis]
[~Periodontitis]
[~~Slight]
[~~Moderate]
[~~Advanced]
[~Mucogingival Problems]

When packed, this is how it will display (assuming you select only one of the severity choices):

Conditions
Gingivitis
Periodontitis
Slight
Mucogingival Problems

_ (Underscore)
Adding an underscore will remove a line when packed, bringing your selections onto the same line. It behaves in the opposite manner to the caret, which adds a line.

Example:

The patient came in complaining about _
[pain,] _
[bleeding,] _
[sensitivity].

When packed, this is how it will look (assuming you select all three choices):

The patient came in complaining about pain, bleeding, sensitivity.

[] (Straight or Square Brackets)
The straight brackets are used to add your choices to your QRP document. In your template, each possible choice will be surrounded by the straight brackets. When you are documenting the letter you will select each choice (which will change the straight brackets to angle brackets <>) and when packed all choices that were not selected will be removed.

Example:

The patient came in complaining about [pain] [bleeding] [sensitivity].

When documenting, if you choose pain and pack the document this is how it will look:

The patient came in complaining about pain.

{} (Curly Brackets or Bracers)
When documenting your QRP you may come across sections that do not apply for that patient. Instead of these sections showing on your final packed document, you can enclose the section in curly brackets. If no choices are made within a section that is enclosed in curly brackets the entire section will be removed when packed.

Example:

The patient came in complaining about [pain] [bleeding] [sensitivity].

In this example, the sentence about the patient’s complaint is not contained within curly brackets. If we do not choose between the three choices and pack the letter this is how it will look:

The patient came in complaining about .

This is something that we would want to avoid, so we can set the document up like this:

{The patient came in complaining about [pain] [bleeding] [sensitivity].}

If we choose bleeding and pack this is how it will look:

The patient came in complaining about bleeding.

In the same example, if we don’t choose any of the options the entire sentence about the complaint will be removed.
